Biography

Oronno Sohel Aungkon was born on September 4, 2010, in Bandarban, Bangladesh, a region celebrated for its natural beauty and cultural diversity. Growing up in a creative and music-loving family, Oronno developed a deep passion for music from a very young age. His father, Gazi Mohammad Sohel, founded the band Khola Chhad Unlimited, and his mother, Salina Akter, has always been a strong source of support. His older sister, Samira Sohel Othoi, has been a constant pillar of encouragement throughout his life.

Oronno’s musical journey officially began in 2017 when he first picked up a guitar. By 2019, he was already contributing to the early sound and identity of Khola Chhad Unlimited as a lead guitarist and vocalist. In 2020, he discovered a strong interest in the bass guitar, inspired by legendary Bangladeshi bands such as Warfaze, Aurthohin, and Artcell, as well as international icons like Flea and John Myung. Through dedicated self-practice, observation, and ear training, he taught himself how to play the bass.

Starting bass at just four years old, Oronno earned the title of the first child bassist of Bangladesh. In 2023, he became the youngest bassist to perform on national television in Bangladesh when he appeared on Duronto TV with Khola Chhad Unlimited. His growing talent and dedication led him to officially become the band’s bassist in 2025, marking a new chapter in their shared musical journey.

As a solo artist, Oronno has showcased his unique identity as an instrumental storyteller who blends emotion, intensity, and melody into every note. By 2025, he had released four solo tracks and one collaborative song, along with two singles and four guitar instrumentals, highlighting his versatility as a bassist, composer, and lyricist. That same year, he released his first album, The Show, further solidifying his place in the Bangladeshi music scene.

Some of his most notable songs include “October 7” and “Blue in My Heart,” with “October 7” achieving massive popularity. With a rapidly growing fanbase and a fearless approach to music, Oronno Sohel Aungkon continues to push creative boundaries and inspire young musicians across Bangladesh.
